It is almost here, it is almost here, it is almost HERE! I feel like a kid on Christmas week awaiting the most anticipated fashion event to descend upon the triangle area – fashionSPARK! Luckily, the wait is almost over – 8 o’clock Friday evening is just around the corner. FashionSPARK is the largest event in the triangle area. This year promises to be the biggest fashion show yet, marking the 5th anniversary for this blossoming event.
Complete with 25 local designers showcasing their pieces on the runway, I couldn’t be more excited! With all the current buzz surrounding NY Fashion Week, this is a great way for triangle residents to enjoy our own dose of fashion up close and personal. This year the 20 featured clothing designers will be accompanied by five jewelry designers, and if you know me or read this blog you know I LOVE fun jewelry.
Another cool thing about the fashionSPARK line-up this year is they are following trend and going green! In fact, 10% of the designers participating in the show are considered “green” designers, meaning they construct their garments/jewelry from recycled, re-used and/or organic, sustainable materials. Also, 100% of the designers are environmentally/socially responsible in some way – this is a definite win-win in my book!
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I read about the fashionSPARK shop – a first this year created based upon popular demand. On Saturday, following the Friday night show, local fashionistas will have the opportunity to come back to Fayetteville Street and meet their favorite designers – oh yeah, and shop your favorite runway looks!
This year the featured designers include:
DRC Clothing Co.
Emily Claire Designs
Gabrielle Marie Dugan
Good Girls Studio
Jaclyn Anthony Designs
Laura Dana Boynton
REDO REUSE / Peligrosa Knits
Street Mode 22
Zac Shell Designs
Below are a few images from some of my favorite designers that will be present, I can’t wait to see how they are all paired with one another!

My good friend Marguerite (who just so happens to run one of the best public relations firms in Raleigh – Urban Pearl) is handling the PR for this fabulous event and was gracious enough to invite me. I will be sure to take lots of photographs and share the fun finds with those of you that can’t make it.
