Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder…

It’s been awhile since I posted on here; life happened.  This morning I randomly had the urge to share these images, I hope you find them as wonderful as I do!

Christian Siriano + Payless = Fierce!

Christian Siriano, one of my favorite Project Runway contestants, proves once again just how fierce he is with his Spring 2010 runway line.  The booties, Mary Jane’s and pumps come in varying shades, fabrics and textures that are sure to grab attention when worn on the street.  Siriano’s shoes will be sold at Payless locations throughout the US and online.  Who knew Payless could be so stylish?

Anchors Away, Nautical Looks Are Here To Stay!

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Spring this year, as it has been an extremely harsh winter for the typically mild Southeast region.  I have decided to ignore the fact that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow earlier this month and prepare my closet for the spring season.

One trend I am glad is still relevant, in the ever changing world of fashion, is the nautical look.  Nautical apparel has stood the test of time, and is once again a must have for spring 2010.  This trend can be seen on celebrities and runways alike, and the best part…it can easily translate into real world wear.

Celebrity Trendsetters:

Olivia Palermo struts down the street in a nautical striped shirt perfectly paired with a navy pencil skirt.

One of my all-time favorites, Kate Hudson, looks effortlessly chic in this breezy cotton nautical striped day dress.

Real World:

For those of us with runway tastes on a “real world” budget the nautical look is easy to sport without breaking the bank.  Check out these inexpensive versions inspired by the runway looks:

This chic nautical dress is an affordable alternative to the Derek Lam collection.  It is available at Charlotte Russe for a mere $26.99!

I just purchased this cotton delight from Old Navy last weekend and I love it!  It is the perfect cross between Kate Hudson’s dress and the Derek Lam runway look.  I can already see this being my go-to dress for any day outing.  Now, all I need is for the weather to cooperate.  Come on spring!
